@Ally_SMMiller@mastodon.online When immigration is discussed, there seem to be two camps: "Send them all home" and "let them all in". Both are wrong! Immigration policy needs to meet the needs of those that are already here, irrespective of race, etc. Priority should be given to those wishing to fill roles in sectors where there is a shortage and keeping families together. Some provision should be made for those whose lives are in danger in their home country but asylum claims need to be processed more quickly. The refugee issue needs international solutions. As an example, over a million refugees came into Bangladesh, which is not a rich country and should not be solely responsible for such a large influx of people.
